Word of God, Speak!
I was in bed last night looking at the ceiling. I couldn’t sleep. I wanted to sleep, but I couldn’t. It seems that my body wasn’t as tired as I thought I was. So, what do you do when you are in bed and can’t sleep? Well, I began to quote scripture. It began something like this…John 3:16, Romans 8:28, Phil. 4:6-7, Romans 3:23, etc. Of course, I was quoting the entire verse, not just the reference.
I find great comfort in God’s word. It is in every way “a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” It gives me strength. It gives me hope. It gives me power over the enemy.
I’m not sure at what point I drifted back off to sleep, but I did. And as I did, the last words I heard inside my mind were God’s words as found in scripture.
Oh, speak to me, Jesus, from your precious word. May it guide my thoughts and my actions as I serve you…as I live for you. Plant it in my heart as a seed. Water it through your Spirit. Grow it by your grace. And may my life glorify you as I strive to live from the precepts found in your word. Amen.

I just watched your March 9 “Pause” devotion. Wow! Really fancy! I remember that shot of us up as high as we could go on that mountain near Kalispell. That was some kind of COLD – but not too cold for Steve to make an angel spread in the snow
